Booking an appointment

You can book online, or by calling us on 02 6610 9547. No referral is needed. New patients start with a 60-minute initial consultation, in person at our East Ballina clinic or by telehealth.

New patient appointments open up to six weeks in advance. If you can't find a time, you can join our Priority List and we'll be in touch when a cancellation comes up or new appointments are released.

Fees and payment

Remi is a private billing practice and our doctors set their own fees. We don't bulk bill. Our current fees are listed on our Book & fees page.

  • Deposit. Online bookings and new patients pay a 50% deposit to hold the appointment. Your preferred payment method is saved securely for future payments.
  • The rest of the fee. One business day before your appointment, we process the rest of the fee using your saved payment method. If you don't have one saved, we'll contact you to take payment.
  • Medicare rebates. If you're eligible for Medicare, your rebate is paid into the bank account linked to your Medicare after your appointment. Telehealth initial consultations attract a lower Medicare rebate than in-person ones.

Cancelling or rescheduling

Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Our doctors have long waitlists, and notice lets us offer your time to someone on the Priority List.

Medicare rebates can't be claimed on cancellation or missed appointment fees.

If you cancel with more than 24 hours' notice, your deposit is kept as credit for a future appointment, or refunded if you prefer.

Feeling unwell before an in-person appointment? Let us know and we can switch you to a video or phone appointment instead.

If we need to cancel your appointment, we'll reschedule it, or refund your payment if you'd prefer not to be seen.

Telehealth appointments

Before your appointment we'll share a secure video link. When it's time, click the link to enter our online waiting room.

Between appointments

Phone calls of 10 or 20 minutes are offered by your doctor when appropriate, for things like discussing results or minor treatment changes. They can't be booked online or by phone.

Repeat prescriptions or referrals without a consultation have a private fee of $40, for patients who've had a review in the last 9 months and have their next one booked. If your care needs reviewing or changing, a consultation may be needed.

Copies of your records

If you'd like a summary of your care sent to your regular GP, your doctor usually prepares it alongside a short phone consultation with you, which is bulk billed. A full copy of your clinical notes has a $40 admin fee, and we'll let you know before we start. See our Privacy policy for how to request your records.

Gift cards

Remi gift cards don't expire. To use one, email the code to hello@remi.com.au and we'll add it as credit to your patient file. Gift cards pay the full appointment fee, and your Medicare rebate is paid to you as usual.
