• Perimenopause is the transition before menopause, when hormone levels begin to shift and your body starts to change. It can begin up to twelve years before periods stop, with symptoms often emerging in the early 40s or late 30s.

Women may experience a range of symptoms, including poor sleep, anxiety, and heavy periods. For others it may be hot flushes, brain fog or irritability. Many women find themselves feeling overwhelmed at work or at home.

At Remi, we’ll help you understand what’s happening and why. Our doctors tailor care to your unique experience, using natural hormone therapies, lifestyle optimisation, and other evidence-based treatments to restore hormonal balance. With the right support, you can move through this chapter feeling balanced, confident, and in control.

If you think you may be perimenopausal, you can take our free online hormone quiz to check your symptoms.

  • Menopause marks the natural end of your reproductive years and is associated with significant hormonal change. The loss of estrogen and progesterone, along with testosterone levels that are often low, can have a profound impact on how women feel and function.

These hormonal changes can affect everything from sleep and mood to energy and focus, and may bring new aches, pains, or changes in weight and motivation. They can also increase the risk of certain long-term health conditions.

At Remi, our menopause doctors provide expert, compassionate care to help you feel like yourself again. We work with you to restore hormonal balance, protect your long-term health, and support your overall wellbeing, so this stage of life becomes one of strength, clarity, and renewed confidence.

  • Hormone health doesn’t stop at menopause. Even years after your final period, the loss of hormones can continue to affect your energy, sleep, mood, bone health, and overall sense of wellbeing.

Many women are told they are “too old” for hormone therapy, or that they’ve missed their opportunity to start it. Others no longer have symptoms but want to understand how to best support their health as they age. The truth is, there are many safe, evidence-based options for women in their 60s and beyond.

At Remi, we assess your individual health profile to find the best path forward. Our doctors provide personalised care, identifying the safest, most effective treatment options for your stage of life.

If you’d like your consultation to include a discussion about whether hormone therapy may be suitable for you, please book with Dr Noara, Dr Jane, or Dr Emma.

  • Menopause can occur in women at any age. When it happens before the age of 45, it’s considered early, and before 40 it’s known as premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). In some, menopause occurs as early as the teenage years. These changes may happen naturally or as a result of medical treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.

The loss of estrogen, progesterone, and often testosterone at a younger age can have a significant impact on physical and emotional wellbeing. It can also affect long-term bone, heart, and brain health, making early diagnosis and ongoing care especially important.

At Remi, our team of experienced doctors support women with early menopause and POI. We’ll help you understand what’s happening, explore the safest and most effective treatment options, discuss fertility considerations, and guide you in protecting your long-term health.

  • Menopause after cancer can bring unique challenges and important questions. Treatments such as chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation can trigger an early or sudden menopause, often with more intense symptoms. Some women are told they are unable to take hormone therapy because of the type of cancer they have had, or due to their genetic or family history.

At Remi, we believe every woman deserves an open and informed discussion about her menopause care. Our doctors take the time to review your individual risks and benefits for each treatment approach, and work with your wider care team to ensure your plan is safe and personalised.

If you would like your consultation to include a discussion about whether hormone therapy may be suitable for you, please book with Dr Noara, Dr Jane or Dr Emma.

  • Weight changes during midlife are common, and they’re not just about diet or willpower. Hormonal shifts, sleep, and stress all play an important role in how your body stores and uses energy.

At Remi, our doctors look at the full picture, combining hormone balancing, lifestyle support, and, when appropriate, medication, to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. It’s about finding balance, not restriction, so you can feel comfortable, confident, and energised in your body again.

  • The loss of estrogen during the menopause transition can cause a reduction in bone density, which may happen gradually or more rapidly in some women. This increases the risk of osteoporosis and fractures over time.

Some women experience aches, joint pain, height loss, or changes in posture without realising these can be linked to hormonal changes.

At Remi, we focus on protecting your bone health through a range of treatments, including restoring natural hormone levels and optimising nutrition and strength.

Our doctors provide personalised care to help prevent further bone loss, support bone strength, and keep you active and confident for years to come.

  • Hormones and mood are deeply connected. Just as many women experience mood changes during the menopause transition, some are sensitive to hormonal shifts at other times in life.

This can lead to conditions such as PMS, PMDD, and postnatal anxiety or depression. Other women experience mood changes related to hormonal contraceptive use.

At Remi, we listen carefully, take your symptoms seriously, and create a personalised plan that may include hormonal support, therapy, and lifestyle strategies.

For support with hormonal mood disorders, outside of perimenopause or menopause, please book with Dr Noara, Dr Esmarie or Dr Kate. Dr Emma is not currently taking on new patients in this category.

  • While our main focus is perimenopause and menopause, some of our doctors also see younger women navigating hormonal issues such as endometriosis, PCOS, painful or heavy periods, and contraceptive needs.

We take the same holistic, whole-person approach, focusing on restoring natural hormone balance, supporting lifestyle factors, and finding solutions that fit your life and goals.

For support with hormonal concerns, outside of perimenopause or menopause, please book with Dr Noara, Dr Esmarie or Dr Kate. Dr Emma is not currently taking on new patients in this category.

  • We often get questions about whether we prescribe bio-identical or body-identical hormones at Remi. Both types of hormone replacement contain natural hormones that are identical to those the body naturally produces. The main differences lie in how they are prepared, their cost, and where they are dispensed.

Body-identical hormones are TGA-approved therapies that are regulated to ensure safety and quality. They are available through standard pharmacies, and many are subsidised under the government’s PBS scheme, significantly reducing cost. These are the first-line treatments used by Remi doctors.

Bio-identical hormones are compounded versions of these natural hormones, made in compounding pharmacies. They are used when regulated options don’t meet a patient’s needs, for example, if there is an intolerance to an ingredient or a specific dose is required.

  • When it comes to hormonal health, restoring natural hormones is only one piece of the puzzle. At Remi, we take a whole-body approach, looking at sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, and mindset.

For women who can’t, or prefer not to, use hormone therapy, we offer a range of non-hormonal treatments and medical options to support symptom relief, mood, and overall wellbeing.
